Learn how to bring fun & sustainable conservation practices into your own home! These workshops are suitable for all age groups and are geared toward families/households.

Each workshop is $6 per person. This program will be held outdoors under our covered pavilion and out on our property from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

1/21 - January is a fantastic time to be a birder in Florida! We will break out the binoculars, see who is soaring over Mt. Morgan, and review why Florida is such a great place for a bird in the winter. We will be creating our own bird feeder to hang from a porch or in your home garden!

2/25 - We owe many thanks to oysters, our built-in water filters! During this workshop, we will explore how human impact has harmed oysters in the past and how human impact can help oysters in the future. We will be crafting oyster wind chimes to take home and decorate your outdoor area!

3/25 - Creepee crawlees are everywhere and thankfully so! Without bugs, our world would fall apart, and we will discover how! Everyone will come away with a bug hotel to be kept outdoors! Please bring a 16 oz. plastic bottle for the project.

4/22 - Food scraps can belong in places other than our compost . . . They belong in our clothes, too! Bring a piece of clothing to try making your own dye from food scraps and then dyeing your chosen piece. Natural fabrics like cotton or wool work best for absorbing the dye. (Examples for cloth items: tea towels, T-shirts, socks, headbands, etc.)
