Description
One of the most beautiful decorative and fine art mediums, glass has long been cherished by cultures throughout the world. The Museum of Arts & Sciences has fine collections of many different European and American traditions of glass from the ruby-red of Bohemian glass to the deep cobalt blue glazing techniques from Koblenz, Germany. And, of course, the famous Waterford Crystal is found in abundance at the Museum and on permanent display in Visible storage. This exhibition brings some of the finest examples of these pieces out - as well as an important recent donation of American Pittsburgh glass -- in an exhibition to discuss the history and traditions behind them.
